Forever Student
Forever Student was made with a new process that starts by painting large pieces of unstretched canvas. Then I find interesting compositions, cut them out, and sew them together.
I’m love working this way because when I’m applying paint to the canvas I’m not tied to the final product, which means the marks are uninhibited and natural. The final pieces feel like the most interesting people at the party meeting each other. The title “Forever Student” is how I approach my creative practice- fully open to everything the work will teach me along the way.
48x60” acrylic and oil pastel on canvas machine sewn together.
